Chandrayaan 2 Soon To Be Land On the Moon

India to be the first country to land on the south polar region of the Moon: ISRO

 

Chandrayaan 2 is the India's second lunar exploration after Chandrayaan 1 developed by ISRO.The mission was launched  after a delay of 9 days scheduled to launch on 14th July but due to technical failure it launched successfully from Satish Dhawan Space centre in Sriharikota on 22 July 2019 at 2.43pm IST to moon in GSLV MK111 rocket launch vehicle carrying the orbiter,the lander"Vikram"and the rover"Pragyan".
The rover will perform its chemical analysis for over 14 days on the south polar surface, while the orbiter will circularized in the lunar orbit for one consecutive year.
The lander is going to land  by 7th of September on the surface of the moon. If able to do so India will be the fourth country to do a soft landing on the surface of the moon and first to land on the south polar region.
By 2nd of September the Vikram the lander separated from the orbiter and continued to rotate in the lunar orbit of the moon.If everything goes well then the Vikram lander is goint to land along with the rover on the south polar surface of the moon.
NASA praised ISRO on launching this mission and the American agency is soon going to launch a manned mission after 5 years if India successfully land on the moon by 7th September on the southernmost land at a latitude of 67 degree South or 70 degree South.
Thus this mission cost over rupees 978 crores approx.out of which 603 crores was of space segment and rest 375 crores for launching.
Thus in the intial stage of this mission signing an agreement with Russia, Russia refused to make rover for India for some certain reason but later India made its home built rover named" Pragyan".

Thus it was a team effort and team work of the Indian scientist who worked hard day and night to make this dream mission to come true.
